On 30 November 2013, a group of foreign students from the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA)’s study program of master’s degree in cross-cultural communication visited the Hangzhou Art School where they observed the performance of the play “Cinderella of Pacific Ocean”. This play was jointly produced by the teachers and students of the Confucius Institute, University of California, USA and the Hangzhou Art School. Directors, cast and support personnel from different countries worked hard together so as to present a wonderful play of art. It was a good example of cross-cultural communication, as well as a valid case for students of the same or similar majors to study.
After observing the play, the foreign students from STA participated in a discussion organized by the relevant offices. They engaged actively in the meeting expressing their views and discussing with the others.
This visit to Hangzhou was a journey of art and, more importantly, a first-hand experience of cross-cultural communication.
