In the afternoon of 4 March 2014, Josper Kongshaug, Liza Van Noord and Henrik Spangsbo and a number of successful Danish stage artists visited the Lighting Virtual Studio of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA). Among them, Jesper Kongshaug has been to the Stage Design Department of STA for academic and cultural exchange on a number of occasions. The purpose of this visit was to widen and deepen the research and discussion in the area of stage art.

After a brief self-introduction, the stage artists from Denmark used the multimedia to showcase some of their successful works, including stage designs for large theatres, lighting designs for gala evenings, video projections for concerts, music dramas and children’s plays, as well as the theatre settings of the 1980s. Through pictures and videos, they provided a comprehensive overview of the development status of the stage art in Denmark. The students asked a lot of questions and enjoyed a lively interaction with the speakers. It was a successful event of academic and cultural exchange which enabled the both sides to share their understanding of stage art.
