On the morning of 27 February 2014, the plaque unveiling ceremony for the STA Qingdao School of Arts Training Base for Fine Arts Education was held at the Cai Yushui Art Gallery. This training base has been established by the Qingdao School of Arts affiliated to Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) in collaboration with the Qingdao West Coast Fine Arts Exchange Centre. Participants at the ceremony included Liu Zhigang, Principal of STA Qingdao School of Arts, Lu Jinfu, Executive Deputy General Manager of Cai Yushui Art Gallery and Pi Chaojun, Curator of Cai Yushui Art Gallery, as well as other leaders from both sides and teachers.
Through the collaboration and exchange on a number of previous occasions, the STA Qingdao School of Arts and the West Coast Art Gallery had built up mutual trust and developed the common desire to establish a formal partnership. This training base is one of the cooperative projects.
During the ceremony, speaking on behalf of their respective organizations, Liu Zhigang, Pi Chaojun and Lu Jinfu expressed their best wishes for a long-term friendly cooperation between the two sides. They said that the training base is not only the platform for mutual cooperation, but also a platform for regional exchange and cooperation in art education. With the training base coming into operation, the STA Qingdao School of Arts will work actively to provide teaching programs of fine arts education and community-based cultural services. In the meantime, it will engage people with the same interest and aspiration from all walks of life in the region for exchange and cooperation at different levels, thereby driving the development of cultural and artistic activities in this region and the surrounding regions, and enhancing the popularization of the regional cultural and artistic undertakings.
