Recently, Prof He Yan of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA)’s Acting Department has accepted the invitation of The Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts (APA) to be its guest academic evaluator. Prof He will visit APA at the end of May and participate in the curriculum evaluation for its study program, Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) Degree in Drama.

The main responsibilities of the guest academic evaluator include evaluating the curriculum outline, discussing the way of teaching with both the faculty and students, and reporting on the quality of the curriculum and related academic activities (including performances and rehearsals).

In the meantime, APA has also invited Prof He Yan to observe its performance of Poon Wai Sum’s The Happiest Day I Lost to be staged at its Academy Studio Theatre from 19 to 24 May, as well as its performance of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew at the Academy Black Box Theatre at the end of May.

The teachers and students visited STA in June 2012. During the visit, they observed the classroom teaching by Prof He Yan.
